Performance Reporting: Planning and Reporting
An incorporated system of planning and reporting which is directed towards acquired goals is known as Performance Reporting. It mainly involves planning and (which also includes the production o the priorities and strategies overview (PSO) and the supplemental information for legislative review (SILR)) and reporting on the plans inclusive of the annual report.
Performance reporting clarifies organizational goals and direction related to it, communicates the priorities of the organization, monitors progress and makes improvements persistently, supports budgeting and resource allocation decisions and provides with information to the legislators, the public, media and others about the performance of the organization.
Performance reporting is a term with a very vast meaning, as it plays a vital role in the efficient management and accountability. The basic part of an organization’s operations and decision-making is planning and reporting. Performance reporting promotes the “continuous improvement” cycle, where reports regarding the activities and performances provide helpful information which guides in best possible decision-making for the next planning cycle.
